I was just 14 when he was killed in action on September 27, 1970, too young to have a LOT of memories. This poem is for my brother, and for all who have lost their brother to the war in Vietnam. For his service in Vietnam, he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with sixteen oak leaf clusters, and the Bronze Star. Following graduation from helicopter flight school, he was sent to Germany for a year and then to Vietnam, where he served with the 237th and 571st Medical Detachments (DUSTOFF). After working for the Bell Telephone Company, he enlisted in the Army. He was a 1965 graduate from Council Rock High School in Newtown, Pennsylvania. He grew up in Oreland and Churchville, Pennsylvania.
